 Chapter 3 of the 308 Winchester project.  In this video I am going to the range to do the initial sight in and barrel break-in.  The plan for this video series is to utilize a 308 Winchester rifle that will be utilized to demonstrate my process of initial set up, sight in, barrel break in, load development and range testing, and  shooting out to distance and hitting a target 800+ years.  Hopefully over 1000 yards.   Here are the components of the rifle:

 Nice morning here in Kansas with my friend Nate shooting his 300 PRC getting ready for an upcoming elk hunt.  We set out firm up his dope to be confident out to 500 yards, but figured we'd go ahead to go at the 870 target to make it interesting.  The video shows a couple of the hits.  No problem.  The rifle was put together by Darrel Kress at SD Tactical.  It is a trued Remington 700 Action, 26" Cerekoted Barrel, Timney Calvin Elite Trigger, Hogue Stock, and Bushnell Elite Tactical XRS II 4.5-30x50 scope.  Ammo is factory Hornady ELD-X 212 Grain.  This is a sweet shooting system and should work well for taking a nice elk at a comfortable distance. 

Nice day at the range with my friend Kyle to try and stretch out the Impact Precision 6mm Creedmoor.  It was hotter than a meth pipe on payday, so we didn't stay out long enough to push it out to 1,300+ yards plus.

 Beautiful day at the range with the GAP PPR.  Little breezy for a 108 gr bullet at that range, but I got it done with a gradual walkout to that distance.  Calculated 670 inches of drop.  Rifle Components: G.A. Running a holiday sale or weekly special? Definitely promote it here to get customers excited about getting a sweet deal. Had a fun trip to Mill Creek Rifle Club to shoot some handguns and my CAA Micro Roni Stabilizer for my Glock 17 9mm.  Good times! 

 First time taking this rifle out to long distance.  I worked up a load for it and was pretty confident it would perform well, but this distance is challenging for any caliber.  I worked my way up to that distance starting at 400, but I was a bit surprised that my DOPE was on and I recorded a hit on my first shot.  I ran out of vertical elevation adjustment so added challenge was to hold over.    The rifle build would be considered by most to be a budget build for a precision rifle.  It just proves that you don't have to have a $5 to $10K rig to go out past 1,000 yds.   Rifle Components: Howa 1500 Barreled Action 6.5 Creedmoor (https://legacysports.com/) Timney Trigger (https://timneytriggers.com/) MDT Chassis (https://mdttac.com) Luth-AR Buttstock (Luth-ar.com) Harris Bipod (https://www.harrisbipods.)
